BOK TOWER, a National Historic Landmark, 205 ft high with 60 magnificent bells from 6 to 24,000 lbs.
Building began in 1927 and was completed and dedicated February 1, 1929. Bok Tower and Gardens is located between Tampa and Orlando in Lake wales, FL. Built by Edward Bok, the singing tower was the missing piece of glorious sounds remembered by Bok from his native Netherlands. The Architect he hired was inspired by the Gothic towers and churches in Europe and the characteristics of the Florida Landscape. Elaborate marble sculpture also adorns the Singing Tower.
